Girl Night Party for Ellie

Last night was Ellia’s “Not Birthday” and she had this cute idea, get a bunch of Junkyard Blues girlfriends and do what we girls do best — go shopping! If you’ve ever gone shopping in Second Life with even one person, you know it’s awkward using text chat. But Ellie had this great idea, get everyone on a group voice chat using Skype.

I wasn’t sure how many girls would show up, but in the past on adventures when we’ve used Skype it seemed that things got a bit noisy when we had more than a half-dozen peeps.

Well, we had about a dozen women in total and I thought the girls did a great job of chatting without overwhelming each other. I’d heard maybe half of the women’s voices in the past and recognized them. Other’s it tool a little time to where I could identify them by their voice, and by the end of the evening all the voices seemed to have their own signatures.

Anyway, here’s a few photos I shot of us as we went on a shopping rampage across the Grid:

We started out shopping for dances, that's Ellie in the tall brown boots (right).

I’m doing this from memory, so if I missed anyone let me know. It was Ellie’s party and the girlfriends included Ali, Cas, LeLe, Reece, Sommer, Tippy, Clovah, Merry, Gracee, Kizzy and Yordie. Yeah, a huge group of girls gone wild, shopping! heh

HAPPY NOT-BIRTHDAY ELLIE!

The Best ‘New Years’ Ever!

First, to all the readers of this blog: HAPPY NEW YEARS!

In December, I decided not to do a look back at the past year. I’ve done that for four prior years, but this past year was too much to digest. This past year had stresses that broke me. I don’t wish to relive them in hopes I’ll find some meaning, the only meaning is, my human’s life overran my life and left both of us in need of healing.

So it’s goodbye to 2012, with one exception.

Last night, I had planned to run wild across the Grid as has been my custom for many of my virtual years. My human could have gone over to Cocoa Beach for what I’m told was an amazing party, but we are both still hunkered down, stuck in that northern Idaho Winter mindset.

So I started out with some friends going to nightclubs. Then we checked out Becky’s new club (due to open this week). I was having a lot of trouble tp’ing around though. Anyway, while running around I got a call from an old friend who wanted to have a little chat.

I’ll bet you have someone like this in your life, someone you’ve known for years but might not see very often. And when you start talking to that friend, it feels like you’re just picking up on a conversation you just left off, even if years have passed. If you are lucky you have some friends like that in your life, and that the kind of friend this was.

Anyway, without getting all mushy, we talked and and talked and it was great. In fact, we talked so long we might have missed the great party at Reece’s. But we made and danced and carried on till we rang in East Coast New Years together. The best parties are the ones where you see all those people you love, and this was a great party with all the Bluesy friends.

with his girl at his side, my BFF Leanna.

It was a wonderful New Years Eve. It was the best start to a new year I could want. In fact, I’d have to go back and check the record on this but I think this was my best New Years Eve ever.

Super Hero Rez Day

It’s a good day to get caught up. I haven’t been around in Second Life a lot in the past week but when I have I’ve done some things I don’t want to forget.

On Wednesday, Destinova Ducatillion, aka Dest, had his 4th Rez Day. Yay! It was an especially fun occasion because the party was held in SL New England at Sommer’s bar, the Chandlery.  And it was even more fun because a great group of peeps came in their finest super hero costumes. This is a story best told through pictures.

Here’s many of the group of superheros,
Leanna and Dest dancing on the tables
and yeah, that’s me dancing on the bar.

Dest seemed to really enjoy living out his rez day as Spidey. He asked if we remembered in the first Spiderman movie if we remembered that kiss when Spidey was upside down. Then he looked into Gracee with lovely face with lust in his eyes. heh.

I’ve known most of the people in this group for several years now and it great going places and doing things with them. Someone commented that we have a great group of friends, and everyone agreed. Btw, it’s bitchin’ cool hanging out in super hero outfits. I could get used to that. hehe

Halloween Is A Comin’ In

Dear Diary….

I’ve travelled a long way. My human has begun looking for a new home but there are so many things that need to be done first. And then she has people to see and places to go. I definitely need to get inworld where at least there I have a home. Maybe I just need to focus on Halloween for now. It’s the national holiday of Second Life and if I’m lucky there’ll be come great parties.

Here are some scenes from yesteryear:

I think this is the first year I really knew that Halloween is
the Second Life national holiday.

I have photo collections from dozens of Halloween Parties from the past five years, and each set makes me smile. Almost everyone I know loves the party scene and it seems to help a lot of us redefine why we are in Second Life. Yes, I should just focus on Halloween and everything will be ok.

Sincerely,
Yordie

Eli & Jac Celebrate Under the Harvest Moon

Last night was Jacan & Ellia Slade’s anniversary and it was also the night of the harvest moon on Moondance Islands. And seeing as Eli throws some of the best parties in Second Life, I just had to attend. Bluesy DJ Ali Heron was spinning for a couple dozen of Eli & Jac’s friends where there to celebrate the couple being together for one year. I managed to snap a few photos in the light of that harvest moon and here’s a couple favs.
