I decided to start this blog because a Second Life girlfriend of mine inspired me by something she is doing. She takes a picture of herself every single day, 365 days a year. No matter what happens, she takes her picture and I think it is fascinating to watch her expression as daily life ebbs and flows with the seasons and the cycle of life. The pictures tell an intimate story.

So, I’ll be writing my blog entries as my own little daily exercise in discipline, and I’d like to think that over time this blog will reveal my life as an avatar. In fact, the purpose of these writings will be step out of the boundaries of real life and to view the world strictly in terms of my second life. People who know me know that I try to live my SL without mixing my real life, so this journal is also a way of focusing on being in SL.

I believe your avatar is a statement about who you are. Some try to recreate themselves in their real life image, others choose to represent who they aspire to be, and others just leave reality behind altogether. It works just like you’d expect. If you see me and you like me then you like my view of who I am. If I see you and I like you then I like your view of yourself.
