It’s noon on Sunday and I’m still sleepy even though I’ve been up for hours. I’m in the photo studio and I’m thinking that I need a photo for today’s journal. I think I’ll snap a shot of my house today.
I really like my little house. For one thing, it is very cute. And instead of having a bedroom upstairs, the manager let me put my photo studio up there. Another thing I like is that New Key West is a planned, themed community where the homes and landscaping are based on historical homes. The most famous of the homes is obviously The Hemingway House, but even my little house is in theme.
There are other places in SL where I’ve tried to setup house. My first place was on land I purchased in the Zen Retreat in Rieul. My hope that between myself and my neighbor, we’d be able to create a pleasant community that was influenced by Zen and Japanese style. For awhile it looked like this was working out but I didn’t realize that my neighbor was a bit of a “space shot” in that she can never make up her mind. She started making radical change to her part of the area on a regular basis of about a month. That kind of routine upheaval was not something I could deal with and the woman was negative to all suggestions (the kind of person who if you say yes, she says no), so reluctantly I sold my land there.
The truth is it has all worked out for me. It hasn’t been easy because NKW has had it’s ups and downs, but the situation has stabilized and I’m very happy here now.
