Bitter-Sweet Thursday

Yes, Steinbeck wrote “Sweet Thursday”. I’ve been waiting for the chance to squeeze that into this journal and the day was bitter-sweet although I can’t really really put my finger on exactly what that was so.

For one thing, I did a lot of chatting with friends, Sheri and Aynnie and Magi. I chatted with Ima about her photo being missing from the auction board, turns out it was an accident and she’s back on the board. I also replaced the my auction photo with my profile photo (I think this is my favorite photo of all the ones I’ve taken). I met and chatted with Onorina Caproni while we were at the auction checking our values as objects of adoration (I’m not doing so great, by the way); she also joined the Adventure group. I chatted with Bronia Vanalten as we did a photo shoot. And I chatted with Deathknell Debruyere, turns out he’s a reader of this blog and is interested in the exploration/ adventure.

And, of course, I chatted with WT in the evening. I’m having a great deal of difficulty dealing with WT being less in SL in the coming months and this has been a topic of conversation. I am happy for WT as he works on his woodworking projects and lovely vineyard, but I will miss him. Anyway, we went to DreamCatcher’s Distillery, a new club where Ziffy Zarf was DJ’ing. The thing about WT and I that is so great is that we always have fun together.

I forgot to post the map of Expedition #4 and seeing as I’m planning for Expedition #5, I’m posting the expedition map with route. BTW, anyone who wants to explore SL by map can do so by using the SLurl website. I will prolly use this as my source for planning in the future because it is much faster than the map in-world.

While chatting with DK about the exploration, I mentioned that it goes slower as fellow adventures join the party. He observed that it is probably more fun with companions and that is true, but I need to focus on making more progress in the coming expeditions. We need to cover at least 9 sims per expedition. I’m thinking about the idea of maybe doing a pre-expedition scouting trip; it might make it easier to enjoy the companionship. Afterall, I am the party’s pathfinder.
