It was very early in the morning, few friends were online, so I decided to head off on expedition #5 alone. I decided not to mount my Arrow and just started walking where where I left off in Lusk, at the southeastern quadrant and moved toward Perry. I was a bit surprised to notice that the “Luskwood” theme was carried over into the new sim, and there were plenty of signs of furry thingies including interesting staircases wrapping around trees and elaborate bridges connecting trees and tree platforms. As I reached the bottom part of the sim I came across a tiny-racer stadium (like kids remote toys but I think you actually get inside them and drive, not sure though).
I crossed into Tehama and again noticed that it was part of the Luskwood theme although it didn’t have the characteristics of the other sims. I moved south and climbed a very high hill and from the hilltop I came across a lookout spot that overlooked the lowlands of Rizal. I found the view to be especially beautiful and snapped a shot.
As I continued on into Tehama, I got the sense that it was another older style sim but enjoyed the hilly, forested area in the southwestern quadrant. When I reached the southern edge, I appreciated the southern shore where the immense lake that consumes most of Smith borders. I took a snapshot but it caused me to crash again for the umph-teenth time and when I returned I just decided to continue heading east from the forest. I came across a home on a plot called Trinala. It had the looks of, “let’s make this because we can” and I supposed declared itself to be a Republican home with a sign in front saying, “Taxes will kill Second Life”. I crashed again and that was it for the day’s exploration.
I returned a short while later and noticed that Callahan’s (the club down the road from my house) had a nice crowd, so I went over and joined in the dancing. The people were fun but the music was a bit on the hard side, so I went on over to HOT-WET for awhile then made the jump back into real life.
During the early evening I started making the rounds to the blues clubs. I started at Toby’s and checked the auction; so far, the auction is turning out to be a bit of a self-esteem lowering experience as the bids for me are in the bottom third of the lot. I thought about asking a friend to bid me up, but really don’t care that much anyway. (Note to self: don’t get into any more of these auctions.) I went to the Junkyard and decided to wait for Ziffy’s performance. Besides, JY has been very popular lately and there were lots of people I know coming and going. I chatted with several people people I had not met before. Ziffy arrived. I chatted with Dixon who was still very blue about unpartnering with Magi. I tried to assure him that time will help, but I don’t think he was ready to hear that. Things happen so fast here in SL.
Then around 6pm-ish, WT arrived and we jumped on the Hot Salsa dance ball by the piano. We talked about this and that, but then the conversation turned a bit more serious. WT was questioning why we should remain “boyfriend” and “girlfriend” seeing as our relationship would be going though a significant change in the coming months. It was an exhausting conversation for both of us, but in the end we are now just good friends and I still love him, and he still loves me. And I guess that’s all there is to say about that.
