There’s No Place Like Home

I’ve made it back to my real life home. It has been over two weeks since I went into the wilderness area along Lake Pend Orielle. I didn’t remember just how bad the broadband connectivity was there and after a couple days I realized that I would not be able to have a second life until I returned home.

It is Spring and I enjoyed my time away from SL. I spent a lot of time hiking and playing around with the animals. One day I led two dogs and three cats on an expedition into the forest. I didn’t think the cats would stick with the group, but was amazed at how they seemed to enjoy the adventure. Wildlife was everywhere and we came across the deer that roam the area. I didn’t see the brown bear and her cub, but did see them a couple of times on other occassions. I’ve seen this bear many times over the past couple years, she and her cubs wander into the compound from time to time but they always mind their own business. And, well, gosh, I was invited to a cookout one moonlit night by a guy I like, but that is enough about real life.

Fortunately, satellite reception was good and in the evenings I watched as many romantic movies as I could find, even a couple of Kevin Costner movies. And I did some reading. And I daydreamed a lot and realized how much I miss my second life.
