The original purpose of this journal was to document my day to day activities. I sought to discover who I am as an avatar. My intention was not to seek readers, but I considered the possibility of readers. And over time I’ve written these journal entries with readers in mind. Several times in the past months I’ve mulled the issue of writing for readers versus writing about my more personal feelings. The notion of keeping two journals seemed like a bad idea, but this moring I realized that is the perfect solution.
Starting now, I will use this blog to report on in-world expeditions, discoveries, adventures and misadventures. This will no longer be a daily journal. And I will spend more time in the writing and wordsmithing, and hopefully make this journal entertaining to readers. In addition, I’ll take my other blog private and use it to explore subjects and feelings that I have refrained from exploring here. I’m also taking the Cartesian Theater blog private.
This project, the writing of a daily journal has been a serendipitous experience. I’m fond of a line in T.S. Eliot’s poem, Portrait of a Lady, “our beginnings never know there ends” and so it is.
Thank you for inviting me. It was a great place and you too are a skilled dance partner. Your dress was beautiful and I had fun…
