Yesterday, I installed the new ATI drivers for my vid card. I got an immediate 50% boost in my Frames Per Second. That may sound great, but it is still less than good performance. NTL, I’ve run these drivers for a full day now and I’m a much happier woman than I was a few days ago.

Another thing, the seemingly endless storm of ugliness that has been drowning out my sense of joy, it has cleared. I knew it would eventually… well, I hoped it would, but it wasn’t until Monday night when Leanna and I went running wild and crazy that I had a kind of cathartic moment, and the levie broke. All the things that have flooded my world just washed away. Adios to the whole freaking mess and sayonara baby!

I spent some time testing the new drivers yesterday. I went over to Junkyard South and shot some photos. I chose one of the most beautiful and also the most complex areas. I’ve shot this area before, so it gave me a real sense of how the new drivers were working.

I must get back to JY and do a full photo study. There is so much beauty there. Anyone who hasn’t explored JY, JY South and the surrounding 10 mostly ocean sims (great for sailing) is really missing one of the works of art in Second Life.
