Sometimes a single sentence can have a thunderous impact. Last night, I was watching The Brave One and it was a good movie with murder and revenge and all, but then there was a scene. Toward the end of the movie, there was a single scene where Jodie Foster is speaking about her sense of loss after the murder of her lover and she says, “I miss who I was with him”. Oh my! That line hit me so hard. If you’ve ever been loved, you have known someone who made you feel like a better person, someone who appreciated you for who you are. When someone loves you that way it’s like a mirror that only sees your beauty and uniqueness. It’s not much in terms of a sentence, I miss who I was with him. It’s just a simple sentence without a single polysyllable word. Anyone could write that sentence, but it left me stunned with memories swirling.

Yes, Blissie, I know exactly what you mean. Loving someone who doesn’t make you feel better about yourself is probably a good signal that you are on the wrong track. As is someone who looks to you for love that you can’t return to them. Oh my, the mind swirls with combinations.

It is a moving sentence. You are a different person when you’re with someone..But sometimes, you’re not the person you should be..I don’t know if that makes sense. It can go both ways. Someone can make you better or worse.
