Performing At The Market Stage

Yesterday afternoon I performed at the Little Yoshiwara Market Stage. The elegant Geisha Yoneyu san (below) directed the performance and the theme was beauty, and the kimono colors were pink. I chose to tell the story of Tanabata. I was a nervous wreck as usual, but I enjoyed the performance as always. Following are some photos from the show.

A view of our director and the performers on stage.

And my sisters, minarai Chrys san and geisha Hatsuoki san.

Below is the humble performer, me.

I’ve been in three creditable shows so far and have served in the ochaya three times. Overall, I’m about two-thirds through my minarai training. There are times when I feel like I need to hurry up and race through my training, but I am enjoying, even savoring the process.
