I began this blog with the goal of documenting my life as an avatar in Second Life. However, in recent days I’ve been impacted by real life events, and these events have made their way into this blog and into my conversations in-world.
First, the global financial crisis, elections and related events have troubled me. And I’m sorry to say that I’ve allowed these events to enter my second life, and worse, I’ve even written related blog entries and comments on other blog entries. I find SL related blogs by dunderheads who gleefully promote political causes and points of view to be irritating. So, I’ve purged a couple of those people from my world. In addition, I will not to contaminate this blog with my own political ramblings and rantings in the future.
Second, and again, the global financial crisis has impacted me like most people, but unlike most people it has affected me in an immediate manner because I trade securities with my own capital. I’m an experienced trader, but the stress has been unbearable and has made me sick. In reviewing my blog entries in recent months I’m sorry to note the number of times I’ve allowed my stresses to color my blog entries. So, going forward, I’ll simply note any periods where I’m not feeling well, and leave out details.
The more I live my second life, the more I enjoy the fantasy aspect of Second Life. Joining the Yoshiwara Okiya was a meaningful event in my second life and has stimulated my interest in role play activities in SL.
