It has been hectic, creating a new avatar and getting all of okiya related clothes, paraphenalia, and associated files and notecards moved over. I’ve also moved all my okiya friends from Yordie to Suzuki, and more than anything, this should help me keep my focus when I’m “in role” at the okiya. And concurrent with the creation of Suzuki Inaka, I now have a new onesan, Masumi Manamiko.

Unfortunately, with all this activity, I didn’t have any time for friends this weekend. The worst part is trying to create time when Froggie appears unexpectedly. I have no idea when he will arrive, so I have no way of carving out time from my schedule to be with him, a problem that was brought home both Saturday and Sunday. Both days I just waited, but eventually gave up. Leanna thought I’d feel better if we went running wild, but I just haven’t been in the mood. And I was going to help Suzume-san with her garden project, but I wasn’t in the mood for that either.

Anyway, I’ll be dancing in a show this evening at Asagao Treasures, 7:00PM SLT (Standard Linden Time). My onesan is directing the show and she always does a good job of organizing and promoting the show. The theme of the show is “The Rising Pheonix” and Onesan even put up posters around the hanamachi, which I found to be a very good idea and one that I’ll use when I direct my first show. The mythology of the Pheonix dates back deep in time to the ancient Egyptians, but the story made it’s way all over the world. That says a lot about the universality of a good story.

It was a very frustrating weekend for me but I believe things are starting to settle down. I’m convinced that creating a second avatar for my role as a maiko is going to help in the coming days. And I’ve begun preparations to delete my longtime alt, Starling, when her premium subscription expires next week. Poor thing, she never had any friends. In case you haven’t done the math, having to two or more premium accounts is a very cost effective way to own mainland properties when you calculate the value of the free land (512sqm each) and the weekly stipends.
