Slowing Down

I’m tired. I’ve been running fast in recent weeks with ups & downs, highs & lows. Between  fundraisers and Junkyard Dreamgirls Pajama Party, I’ve met new friends and enjoyed aspects of Second Life that I wouldn’t have experienced otherwise. It’s been great, but there have been other things happening that weren’t so amazing.

Second Life is on an accelerated time cycle — we all know this — even when you aren’t, and you can get swept away so easily and not even notice. The good thing about keeping a journal is you can take a look back and see how your life ebbs and flows. That’s what I did this morning, look back. So, I need to slow down or take a break from SL for awhile.

Where ya’ been Cap’n Kaos Usbourne? Haven’t seen you in ages. Let’s just sail out of here and see what we find.

It would be cool if you could sign aboard a ship and sail across a virtual ocean for a few weeks. It could take hundreds or thousands of sims, but imagine just leaving your avie in-world, then returning in the evening to join the crew and sail westerly into the sunset. The Junkyard has a good start on this, maybe if we could sail up to Nantucket or Sailors Cove. Maybe it’s just fun to think about.
