It was one of the first places that really impressed me in SL, the Open Latte Shop at the Mill Pond sim. Unfortunately, Micala Lumier closed Mill Pond several weeks back and even though she plans to create a new sim, the Open Latte regulars have scattered hither and yon. Well, except on Sunday night, I met Jon while dancing at the Junkyard and he mentioned that several former Mill Pondies are hanging out over at The Cove Cafe in Junkyard Blues South. This was a Wowzer for me!
I haven’t been to The Cove in recent weeks but always liked that part of JY South. So, I wandered over there in the early evening and was delighted with the changes since the last time I stopped by. It has changed a lot since the sim was created. The location is at the southern end of rows of shops lining the canal, and in the early days there used to be a pool there. But now there it is an inviting open air cafe sitting on a sprawling pier at the fork in the bayou.
The Cove Cafe is another cozy place among so many at Junkyard.
I walked inside The Cove, wandered around the comfortable furnishings, got a cup of coffee from the bar, then plopped into a chair with a view of the marina. I’m not going to describe everything because you should break away from your routine and check the place out. The furniture is even for sale.
What a view! This is a view you can enjoy all evening.
When Leanna arrived in-world, I tp’d her right in and she was so impressed. Since she hadn’t explored JYS as much as I had, I took her on a tour and it was great hearing her delight and exclamations. This reminded me of why it is so nice to have a good pal to run around with. Anyway, we explored JY South, then headed north and made our way to JY Beach and the harbor master’s shack. Then we checked out the houseboats and finally entered the JY dance area through the backdoor.
I’ve tried to do a complete photo study of the Junkyard for a long time. I’d really like to complete it before Summer.
Hi Trent! I'm so glad you discovered my blog and I'll definitely swing by The Cove this week. Kindest regards, Yordie
