I’ve been told that Ziffy Zarf has worn a suit before, but it is very difficult to believe. I mean, everyone I know believes that Ziffy was born in that black sweater of his. True, he has changed his look a bit over the years, from the pasty, demure bluesy man to a more normal looking av. But Ziffy made an astonishing appearance change for the new gig, he grew an afro… photo says it all. Squishies, Ziffy!

So, new suit and hair and looking a bit like a feather duster, Ziffy opened his show, spinning his always unique, definitely eclectic selections. It was 50s & 60s rock with some rhythm and blues tossed in. I was dressed in my black, lacey prancing clothes, even had on my black stocking with seams (really had to dig thru my closet for those). Magi and Lacey where there, but it was a relatively small crowd of regulars and Ziffy fans, still, not bad for 2:00pm SLT time slot.

Afternoon rocked, rolled and twisted along. That’s me on the right, dancin’ and prancin’.

Before the show, I had prepared a special surprise for the guests and, well, Ziffy too. I called it “Ziffy Facts”. It is a database I put together of little known facts and new myths about the man and his box of harmonicas. Here are the first three for those who missed the show.

ZIFFY FACTS (SORT OF)… #1… ZIFFY ZARF PLAYED 1ST BASS HARMONICA IN THE LEGENDARY… 1000-MAN… “BIG JIMMY LITTLE’S HARMONICA ORCHESTRA”… HARD TO BELIEVE? MAYBE. TRUE? WELL…

Cybershot immediately picked up on the 1000 harmonicas and what that might sound like. He concluded it would sound like a bagpipe. hehe.

ZIFFY FACTS (SORT OF)… #2… IN REAL LIFE, ZIFFY ZARF IS A HULKING GIANT OF A MAN… KNOWN AS “ZARF MASTER”, HE WRESTLES PROFESSIONALLY ON FRIDAY NIGHTS… HARD TO BELIEVE? PERHAPS. TRUE? WHO KNOWS?

ZIFFY FACTS… #3… IN REAL LIFE, ZIFFY ZARF IS AND ASPIRING MUSICIAN… HARMONICA PLAYER & PIANOMAN… HE IS ALSO AN AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHER AND OCCASIONAL WRITER OF STRANGE PHRASES… HARD TO BELEIVE? NO. TRUE? YES

Of couse, those who know Ziffy or at least read his Profile know that the last fact is actually true.

It has been a very long time since I hosted, at least in SL time. And I was a bit rusty with my hosting shtik, but really enjoyed having a gig again, especially leading into the weekend, and especially with Ziffy.
