More About The Villa

Jon and I continue to work on our villa, our hangout. We’ve run into some peculiar problems with regard to the effects of certain scripts on certain properties of unassociated objects. Long story but we are having to explore a variety of solutions to enable some of our furniture to allow people to just sit. Other than that, we need a new sofa for Jon, an Intan dance system for the terrace and maybe another system for the courtyard. Once we complete those projects, I think we’ll start inviting guests to hangout on a regular basis.

My fav room in the villa is still the Music room. I’ve said this before, but now that we have the ocean crashing against the rocks outside, the music room is even more special. I don’t talk about it much, but when i was a young girl I took music lessons (piano, accordion [long story, we had a relative and…], even coronet [my rebellion against the accordian… hehe]) and took singing lessons with a private tutor. I haven’t maintained my vocal skills and today, I’m prolly a below average karaoke singer. Still, the love of music is part of who I am and my musical tastes span most genres. Jon, oh the other hand has amazing musical training, and our musical connections sort of in the background of our relationship. Anyway, here’s a recent photo of the music room.

Notice the high ceilings, they are part of the charm of this villa.

Our great room is an eclectic mix of furniture, but we are in the process of swapping out the sofas (they are also used in the courtyard) for a new Bella Rose specialty suite.

Eclectic is the word for our villa in general, but the great room is the showcase for this idea.

Yesterday I mentioned the lovely new love seat and chairs Jon bought for our bedroom, so I thought it would be nice to give a peek at them. I love the pink and surprisingly “no girl stuff” Jon likes it too.

The idea of our hangout is that it will be a place to come and chat, listen to music and hang with like-minded people, even not so like-minded people. It will be a place to meet new friends and re-connect with old friends. In a way, it will be like Open Latte or other coffee houses but with Jon and my sense of style and hospitality, we want to create a new kind of experience. We are considering being open one day a week, for enough hours for peeps in several time zones to have a chance to drop by.

thanks Mat… that's a good lead, I'll have to see where it takes us. We have isolated the source of the problem, but don't really know why. So, this is the best idea we've heard so far. Expect an invitation soon. 🙂 Hugzzz

Check your scripted objects messaging channels, if they use messaging (i.e., even "listen" is considered messaging). If any are on the same channel and within 20 meters of each other and one happens to send a message on the same channel as one that is listening, uncertain results will arise. Most use channel 1 for commands such as hide/show, etc. Just a thought. 🙂 Mathew D.
