Yesterday was a big day for my garden, I installed a Zen garden kit from Hosoi Ichiba. The kit was very expensive (L$5,000) but if you want the fine quality, I haven’t found any real alternatives. Anyway, as soon as the kit was installed I felt I had the missing element I’ve been looking for, and I’m much more at ease with the progress. Clearly, this Zen garden surpasses my old one in quality and also in size.

Although the new addition has relieved a lot of pressure to finish the work on by month end, I’m not fully satisfied with the overall layout. The location of the rock garden isn’t ideal and the actual elements within need more thought.LeLe suggested that a fountain might work and I think that’s a great idea, so I’ll be looking at that.
When I concieved of the new garden I had wanted to put the tehouse on the pond, but due to it’s size, mainly it’s height it didn’t have the right look and feel. I could have lowered the roof but in SL, low roofs cramp camera views.
The location of the tea house and Zen garden are complimentary.
This garden has come together faster than I expected, but there are many details that I’m just not satisfied with. Now, I need to turn my attention back to the retreat on the southern side of the pond. I have some special ideas for the pond hut, but those are secret.
