Yordie of the Na’vi at Pandora Moon

The story of Monday evening began when Leanna and I began exploring Pandora Moon. And as the evening moved along, I was getting a feeling that it would be fun to find some really cool Na’vi skin and hair and gear. Leanna asked Bella Orsini where we to find some Na’vi stores and in a few minutes we went shopping!

The stores had skins and everything we’d need to get started. I found a couple different hair styles then headed over to the skins. This turned out to be complicated, because none of the skins looked exactly like Na’vi skin to me. NTL, the skins were a lot of fun and I ended up buying a blue, green and turquoise. The turquoise was too bright and the blue just wasn’t right, but the green had a great look (but the following day I found the perfect skin… more on this at the end). Now with my sexy bod, I shopped for some sexy clothes and fell for a totally sexy and tough leather & feather outfit. Now I felt smokin’ hawt! And I was getting something like a Na’vi feeling inside me.

In fact, I was feeling like a wild thing. And just at that time, Thor came online. Thor suited up in his Na’vi gear and joined LeLe and me at the store. Thor was amazing, and I’m sure I’ll never look at him in the same way ever again. Hehe. LeLe was still shopping and hadn’t made a existential commitment to this new world of the Na’vi yet, but I was a total goner. Then Thor said, “Would you like to go Flying.” And while that sounded like fun and all, I didn’t quite understand just what he had in mind.

What happened next blew my mind (which wasn’t that hard to do at that point). Thor tp’d me back to Pandora Moon where he had already rezzed up his dragon/ikarani and he told me to hop on! A minute later I knew what Flying really is!! Here are the photos from this amazing adventure.

Thor and I mount ikarani at the entrance. That’s me on the back.
Thor guided us straight into the sky while I held on for dear life.
We leveled out high over the trees.
He circle then soared higher and higher still.
As we passed one of the amazing floating mountains, Thor put the dragon in a dive at incredible speeds.

This went on seemingly for hours, soaring, coasting, diving, all the while me hanging on to the dragon with wind in my face and our tails flying behind us. I must have screamed out, “Amazing” a hundred times but Thor just kept flying.

I was so excited my heart was bounding and my eyes felt like they were about to pop out of their sockets. I hadn’t felt like this in years. It was thrilling and new and unique, and I was overcome by a sense of joyfulness like being a noob and just discovering Second Life for the first time. It was a wonderment!

But Thor wasn’t done, seeing friends below we headed down to say hello.

We flew into the ballroom and chatted for a few minutes then all of us soared away together.
Thor got a message from Bella that she and her guest were in the sea, and we were invited to join them.
We headed off to find them and after a short search, we landed our dragon and walked to the sea.
As Thor and I made our way along the sea bottom we were taken by the beauty. Bella said it is her favorite spot on Pandora Moon. Later, Thor said this photo felt like we were in a movie. And I totally agree.

By now I began to realize that this little adventure had become a transformative experience for me.

Maybe if I hadn’t been a bit skeptical about if it were even possible to bring Pandora Moon to Second Life, I wouldn’t have so overwhelmed. And maybe if I didn’t have a great guide, Thor, to show me around or more correctly to take me flying, I wouldn’t have been so overwhelmed. But I was sooo overwhelmed till I was virtually speechless when we finally ended our adventure. I just kept saying, “Wow… Amazing”, again and again. hehe.

Commentary: I believe that this unique place, built by people with a great determination and talent, has proven what Second Life can be and I think should be. This sim is the epitome of an immersive experience. And I believe it is worth more than a thousand Avatar United websites. If the leadership at Linden Lab wasn’t so busy sticking their noses into “social glue” they could learn a lot over here a Pandora Moon.

This is my favorite shot of myself from Monday night but I did a lot of work on Tuesday getting my Na’vi look right.
This is the new Yordie Na’vi as of Tuesday evening.

My new Na’vi looks uses my Yordie shape but made some big changes to my eyes, nose and ears. Oh, and I’m like super tall now. Let me know what you think about my new look, but especially let me know what you think of Pandora Moon.

Riding my own ikarani was heaven and as you said it so well, Yordie, I felt the joy of first discovery all over again. Pandora Moon is a healing place, a spiritual place, whether you visit as a human or as a Na'vi! It is place you will want to go back to time and time again! See you there, Yordie! *hugs* Tippy!!!!
