Omega Point is an idea, a point of view, a theory. An Alpha point is at the other end of the Omega Point spectrum, and a part of a theory of the universe advanced by a French visionary named Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. Yes, I looked it up in Wikipedia but I had actually heard of Mssr de Chardin when I was in high school.
Anyway, Omega Point & Alpha Point are now sims in Second Life. I knew I’d heard the names before, but just couldn’t connect the dots until I Google them. But regardless of the philosophical roots, the building on these sim (altho still in progress) is ambitious and amazing, and unlike anything I’ve ever seen.
One beautifully constructed cathedral rises into SL’s heavens, literally over 900 meters. I know because I flew up there and tp’d Thor up to see. Of course, it was Thor who told me about this place and we spent about an hour wandering around and flying, trying to understand what the place was.
The sim’s LM includes this intriguing heading, a “Dark Fantasy Mysterious World”, but I’m just not sure what it all about. So, I’m not really ready to say much more about these sims yet. Afterall, it’s still being constructed. Ntl, I totally recommend this place to anyone with a little adventure in their hearts. And thanks as always to Thor for taking me on amazing adventure.
Also, I’ll be keeping an eye of these sims as they evolve. So… more to come on that.
Can't wait to explore this one when I get back. Hugs Yordie…be good while I am gone. Giggles.LeLe
