Tak and I partnered last night. /me is swimming in yay.
From one point of view, I suppose it might seem sudden, but when you consider how long we’ve known each other, it makes a lot more sense. Still, even though we’ve known each other for over a year, it does feel like been only in the past two weeks that we’ve really gotten to know each other.
If you’ve never partnered in Second Life, I don’t think you can understand how fragile SL relationships can be, tethered together mostly with text messages with every word texted creating a new possibility of a miscommunication. Breakups in SL can be as hard as in real life. In fact, both Tak & I had individually resolved that we’d never partner again.
With Tak though, it has been different from the beginning and last night we thru caution to the wind. We did agree that our partnership will represent an engagement, not a marriage. Otoh, we also agreed we’d be looking at marriage down the road a bit. I’m very happy that circumstances created the situation were Tak and I really got to know each other on a new level. I’ve known him in so many different ways. First as the poet, visiting me in my garden. As the visitor to my bluesy, Junkyard world. And now, the man who helped me through probably the roughest patch of my second life.
It’s been an amazing Monday. So let the word go forth, Tak and I are one. As for the future, the visionary says, “The future is not laid out on a track”, and therefore I say Fiddleedee on the dangers ahead.
Thanks LeLe, Thanks Mat… I'm still swimming in yay!
