A Place Called Paris

In Second Life, Paris is not a large city in France, it is a group of sims that are under various stages of construction. And regardless of any real life issues we Americans might have with France, we should be able to leave all that behind and marvel at a place of great beauty — Paris.

Last night, after dancing and prancing with the gang at The Distillery, Tak had something he wanted to tell me and he made arrangements for us to fly to Paris. As we arrived, I was instantly delighted by the beauty and then I saw the Eiffel Tower. Or, I should say, I saw one of the giant legs of the Eiffel Tower.

Here we are near one of the giant base pillars.
And if you look in the center you’ll see two tiny little people, Tak and me.
Caming out as far as I could, I still couldn’t get this giant structure into my picture frame. You’ll just have to go there to experience the grandeur and craftsmanship of this place yourself.

We walked around Paris for awhile but several sims were still under construction and others were blocked off, so we returned to The Eiffel Tower. Tak still hadn’t told me what was on his mind but he wanted to first make our way to the top observation deck, which we did.

Here over 320 meters in the clouds, Tak asked me to marry him.
Yes, we had talked about this and we were even thinking of when,
but Tak wanted to propose in this amazing place.

I could say a lot of things at this point, but I’ll just have to let you imagine what I said to him. And yes, we are officially starting to plan a wedding. And we’ve talked of travelling abroad, perhaps to Paris and living there for a month or so, then travelling perhaps to some other great city. Who knows. /me smiles

There are so many people in Second Life who are soooo wrong for us. And there are some people who are almost right for us. But I now believe there can be a person who is just right for us. That person may be hard to find and you may make many mistakes in finding them, but if you keep trying I think you will. I have found that person and he is Tak.

*Btw, although the Paris sim group is still under construction, I can already place it into my list of the Wonder’s of Second Life.
