The New Junkyard Blues

Junkyard Blues is a very popular club, there are great crowds there throughout the day and they get bigger every night. Being popular has come at a cost, namely the club has had more than it’s share of lag problems. And lately with apparent Linden changes aimed at fixing bugs, the lag issues and crashes seem have gotten worse. While we hope that LL will unscramble this growing mess, Kiff has attempted to solve the lag issues at the JY by distributing the load between JY and JY South. The changes have resulted in a much larger dance floor. Here’s a picture of the new dance floor I took last night.

If you look at the blue sign and up you’ll get an idea of where the sim crossing is, and yes the sim crossing is like all sim crossings. So, you sort of pick the side of the dance floor you want to settle.

Last night, The Miss Luci Show debuted on the combined sims and it was really good that we have two hostesses because it took a little getting used to with so much more area. The method I use for greeting guests is visual recognition, and that means camming around as people come and go, and I found I had to extend my camming significantly. It seems likely that my camming contributed to me crashing twice which is unusual for me.

But the Linden gods weren’t thru with us tho. And for unexplained reasons, JY South crashed a couple times. I am certain that Kiff & Dina are doing everything possible to cope with the problems associated with large crowds, but I am reasonably certain that none of us will have a consistent Second Life experience until Linden Lab solves what must be very perplexing problems.
