Our Wedding

On Friday, December 3rd, 2010, Takamatsu Soke married Yordie Sands at a small ceremony in Yordie’s Zen Garden. The wedding was a traditional wedding but the wedding party and guests wore kimonos and decorations were in the Zen theme.

Our Second Life officiant conducted the wedding, queueing the bride and groom as they told stories of how they met at the garden and how their relationship evolved. Yordie subsequently assumed the name Yordie Sands-Soke.

Following is the story told in photos, provided by Thor Effingham.

Grooms friends Laura Bondi, Kiff Clutterbuck and Thor Effingham greet guests as the wedding draws near.

Leanna Chaffe leads the bridesmaids into the ceremony.

The wedding party waits for the bride’s entrance. From left to right: Breeze Windrum, Dina Petty, Magi McBride, Leanna Chaffe, groom Takamatsu Soke, Laura Bondi, Thor Effingham and Lexi Zsun.

Kiff Clutterbuck escorts Yordie Sands to the alter as the Theme from Ice Castles plays. yes, That’s me. Yay!

Taka & Yordie joins hands as the ceremony begins. Yes, I’m nervous. /me smiles nervously

Takamatsu Soke & Yordie Sands pronounced husband & wife.

Taka leads his wife thru the ceremonial gate to a new life. On left, Luci Bergbahn and right, Gracee Beaumont, the wedding planners.

The wedding had to be small due to constraints of the Nishijima sim (including eight bot avatars that LL would not remove). In fact, after accounting for the ten members of the wedding party, officiant, wedding planners and photographer, Tak & I could only invite three couples each.

However, the wedding reception was unlimited thanks to the generosity of fellow Zen Garden owner, Magi McBride. Tomorrow the story of the reception and more amazing photos. And in the coming days I’ll be featuring other the wedding photos of Minnie Tunwarm. And there will be stories from our honeymoon in Paris, stories about friends, and stories about the amazing 12 sims of the Paris sim group. There is much to tell.
