In the flury of activity leading into the new year, I didn’t get around to creating any new year’s resolutions but I did look back at last year’s goals. Anyway, it’s almost two weeks into the 2011 so I better get these things out before I forget again. I’ll start with some simpler ones.
1) Continue tradition of parties at Yordie’s Zen Garden.
Last year there was the opening of the garden in January and the Summer Evening Celebration in August, and Tak and I have talked about continuing those parties and even adding maybe two more.
2) Continue hosting at Junkyard Blues
The Junkyard is such a part of who I am now and I don’t want to lose that. At times it can be demanding week after week, but with Gracee co-hosting it gives Tak & I more breathing space.
3) Continue exploring The Grid.
One of the great things about Tak is that he is an explorer too, and together we consider ourselves world travellers. We’ve already begun exploring Italy and have at least a few hundred more to explore.
4) Expand my roleplay experience.
Tak & I have departed from a couple of the earlier role play ideas we’ve had and are inventing a wholy new approach to role play. I’m not going to say too much about this, but it will become clear as the year moves forward.
5) Upgrade Yordie’s Zen Garden.
No, no, no, I’m not going to tear the garden down but there are new landscaping technologies I want to upgrade into the garden. I explored the new tech in September and I’m feeling the urge to garden.
6) Improve Being Yordie Sands blog.
I recognize that I can be very silly and frivilous and shallow in the writing I do here, but I’ll give myself a good grade for keeping the blog active. In the coming year I’ll continue to document my life as an avatar, but I think the plans Tak & I have for roleplay will present some great opportunities for new features and improvement. Also, I want to follow-up on my Yordie’s Wonders of Second Life where there is still sooo much work to do.
8) Manage my inworld time better.
At times in the later half of 2010 I was soooo swept away with my whirlwind romance with Tak that I’m pretty sure we both put real life oh hold way toooo much. hehe and yay! We already began to manage our time so that real life can work and I want to stick to this despite so many temptations.
9) Focus on friendships.
For me, Second Life is first and foremost about friendships. Without friendships, SL is a very lonely place even with all the wonderful build across The Grid. Naturally, my number one priority is my husband Tak, but we both appreciate how important friendships are and want to make those friendships work.
I’m pretty sure I’ve forgotten some important things I want to resolve to do, like learning more about scripting and building and animation and who knows whatelse. But this will have to do for now. These are the things I resolve to do in 2011.
/me shuffles off mumbling to herself.
Sounds like great resolutions but I am still not making any this year…..after three years of saying i was going to get organized…..I give up.Hugs
