Part 15, The Samurai & The Geisha
I’ve spoken of my cousin, Koniki. She is like a little sister to me and she is the first person I thought of when Takamatsu sama realized we needed someone to run the Ramenshop. Koniki is a very quiet girl and is very devoted to the art of cooking.
Koniki provides Taka and me the opportunity to work on our new lands while still being involved in our new community at Kansai. And we need a great deal of opportunity to work on those lands, although there is much natural beauty already there.
All of this work we’ve done in the past weeks has kept us away from our new home. On some nights I wish we had our home here, but we are deep in the forest and I love to be with people. Being with people is why we moved to Kansai in the beginning.
In the coming days, Taka plans to apply for membership in the Kiebatsu Samurai Clan. I am fearful for my husband, but it is important for a samurai in this region to belong to a strong clan.
