How does a nightclub and community survive for five years in Second Life? Well, you can read what Kiff & Dina have to say on the Junkyard Blues website. And then there’s this, whenever there’s an important occasion, the Junkyard Dawgs come from everywhere, even friends we haven’t seen in a long time. It’s really amazing to see the Dawgs pour in.
It’s Junkyard Blues’ 5th anniversary and this year Kiff & Dina recreated the original Junkyard, a sky platform with all the Junkyard amenities from 2006. I wasn’t here then but I know many of the people who were and it was a real treat to teleport back in time and experience the old club.
In shooting photos of the party and the original club, I kept the Sun at daylight (something I rarely do). I think daylight captures some of that “original” feeling.
Then there was last night’s great party. It was classic Junkyard Blues on that familiar blue tile dance floor. DJ Fiery Otarred was spinning and even though I’d like to mention all the friends who came to the show, there were just too many and I was sure I’d miss someone. Anyway, if you are reading this blog, you know who you are. /me smiles a silly smile
So, today is the first day of the JY’s sixth year. Long live Junkyard Blues.
I visited a blues club very frequently for years and one night I popped over and poof all gone. I was really surprised cause it was a full house every night. It's sad some sims (like gardens of apollo), or clubs don't survive the Linden prices these days.So keep going Junkyard, think I might visit this one tonight:-)

Yeah, they amaze me too. I think they realize how people look to them for inspiration and what is possible. And totally, they are "rare and wonderful people!" hug … Yordie
