New Directions, New Discoveries

For over three years this blog has been about my life as a Second Life avatar. I’ve written about many subjects, but often it’s been a very personal portrait of me. And I’ve talked about how embarrassing this can be at times, but also I’ve learned a lot about myself and even some friends have found my perspective helpful. But I want to take the blog in a new direction now.

On this blog’s third anniversary, I thought the future of this blog would focus on role play stories. At the time I was writing my first story and I felt this would continue to unfold. But that path has been closed for the foreseeable future. So, I want to turn the main focus back to one of my favorite SL activities.

That’s me and Vixen in 2008

In 2008, I began exploring the SL mainlands on foot, then on a giant snail and ultimately, on my beautiful buckskin wonder horse, Vixen. For many months I explored and wrote a series I now refer to as My Expeditions. In fact, if you follow this blog you know that I am drawn back to this quest again and again.

Aside from my chronic wanderlust, I want to renew my search for the true Wonder’s of Second Life. There are a lot of amazing single sims or small sim groups, but for now I’ll continue to seek out sim groups with four or more sims.

There’s also a couple other subjects I’ll include. One is, I’ll join the search for new stores and new products (well, yeah, it’s called “shopping”). And I’m going to begin creating some fashion posts. I’ll even model for these posts. In the past, I excluded fashion except as a coincidence of some other activity, but I think it will be fun to see where this leads. I especially want to seek out “mesh” fashions as they come on the market.

Of course, I’ll continue to write about great events, especially live entertainment and staged shows. And I’ll give shout outs to DJs and clubs. Also, I’ll be more active in investigating changes coming from Linden Lab, and will relentlessly show of my displeasure with Viewer 2. I’m also toying with the idea of creating a Scripting tab for posts related to learning LSL scripting; the idea is that I’ll do a multi-media exposition of my own learning process.

Today, Being Yordie Sands is a personal journal; my goal is to create more general interest content. This blog will always be about being Yordie Sands, but with less emphasis on the personal, shall we say.

Hi Totsymae… well, here's a link to my first attempt at integrating SL and fiction. it's a role play story i wrote while my partner Taka & I were role playing in Hosoi Ichiba. I found it to be a very enjoyable experience, and loved the writing. hope you like… http://yordiesands.blogspot.com/p/my-stories.html
