In the past few days I’ve been checking out a lot of Second Life fashion blogs, websites and Xstreet. Yes, I’ve been shopping but also I’ve been looking for blogs to add to My Fav Fashion Blogs list (right column). First, I need to say, Wow. There are sooo many fashion blogs. And many of them are really cool and very hawt. In fact, there are so many cool fashion blogs it’s just too much to cope with unless you are a real committed fashionista.

dancing in it yet.

So, let me just get clear on why I’ve been dropping some fashion posts into this blog, this is just an occasional feature of this blog. These fashion posts have been fun, but I haven’t created the type of fashion posts I’ve got formulating in my mind. One thing I am doing tho, I’m adding some of my fashion photos to a Flickr set called Yordie Style. There’s not much in it yet, but I’m so enjoying setting up outfits, I’m sure I’ll keep adding to this. Flickr also has a slide show features, so just turn it on, tune in and… watch the show.
Then there’s Xstreet. I’m one of those people who’d rather visit stores inworld. In fact, recently I’ve shopped for hours at LE LOOK, Ambrosia, GOL/Element. I’m a big fan of other stores and malls as well, but I enjoy the malls most. Then there’s Xstreet which is definitely cool. It’s very useful too, especially when you need something fast.
But then there’s this, it would be a great tool but some vendors are just disgraceful in the way they publish with unrelated keywords for their crappy products. I know LL is aware of this problem and aware of deficiencies in the search engine, but this tool needs to get better.
The problems with Xstreet are problematic and improvements promised in SL Marketplace seem to be on hold. Here’s a probing post by Darrius Gothly I linked to from Tateru Nino’s site. OOPS.. late breaking news, Darrius Gothly says SL Marketplace “put back to right.”
All I’m saying is, this never has been and won’t be a fashion blog. But I want to share some fun stuff I find and you can see some of my fav styles on Flickr. And checkout the fashion blogs I add to my list in the coming days (let me know if you have some suggestions).
