I had that desire to get out on the Blake Sea last night. I love the way this new boat just glides across the sea and wanted to see what she’d do on the vast expanse of Blake. So, I started out and got some cool pics along the way. Then something happened.

Yeah, just a normal day with me and my speedboat. /me smiling from ear to ear I really love this racing across the water and all. |

I was keeping an eye of the waters, heading to Tromp Island, when I saw a discoloration below, so I slowed. Below there seemed to be some type of structure. |

I used my Dad’s glass bottom bucket to look below the surface, and sure enough there were ruins and an amazing region to go scuba diving and exploring. |

I made a note that it was off the western coast of Nautilus, then, to use another of my Dad’s expressions, “poured the coal to her.” *giggles* |
I saw a video interview of Strawberry Singh the other day. She’s a totally cool girl and in the interview she was asked about where she found the time to do all the amazing things she does in Second Life. Her remarks were encouraging to anyone who is feeling like they are addicted, she says SL is her only hobby and she enjoys it very much. Period. This is the kind of thing I’ve come to like about Berry, she really knows what she wants out of Second Life.
I mention Berry’s POV because I look at myself in the photos, zooming across a virtual sea and equating it in my mind with experiences from my past, racing across real seas. I find myself thinking, geez, I’m so simple minded thinking that I’m feeling that real life sensation. Of course, it’s not real life but it does evoke that whole immersive experience.

Anyway, I continued my cruise as the night came down. I headed for the moon lighting the way. I had the throttle down, wind in my hair, engines making those cool macho sounds. |
Sailing and boating in Second Life is so cool, but no one is clever enough or lucky enough to just keep zooming around forever. This was a particularly long journey at high speeds, all the way from Martha’s Vineyard to deep in the western Blake Sea. I did this because I’m trying to find out more about what the limitations are. I had several bad sim crossings but his was maybe the 8th one and it was terminal. Still, I had a great time.
If you don’t know the fun of zooming across the virtual sea, don’t wait. Get one of these sweet little Street Dancer class 35′ boats at Marketplace, search for “MM SD35”, only L$0.
Oh yeah, Lifer, I love those second seas. I found some new stuff last night and I'll post sometime this weekend. Glad you like.

Yes, I was amazed at how well things went. Some nights, no matter what speed you choose, you get hurled into oblivion.
