Taking A Look At Victorian Era

In my other blog I wanted to illustrate my story with a photo of lead character Annabella. Seeing as the story is set in the Victorian Era, I scrambled around looking for inexpensive Victorian dresses.

I found several in the L$200 price range. And seeing as all I wanted was one pic for the story, I jumped in and bought one, but it got stuck in delivery so I bought another. Anyway, I ended up with two inexpensive dresses and used one for the story, and that was that. Btw, I spent an hour or so fiddling around with Annbella’s avi, so if you look carefully you’ll see that she’s not me (check it).

Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with the elegance of the Victorian era. I know those could be very uncomfortable clothes beneath the surface, but wow are they pretty. I took a few extra photos and put together a little composite of two of them. That’s all, just that these are pretty.

These photos are me, however.
This is my only steampunk
outfit, but I love it.
There be a gun under my skirt.

When people in Second Life talk about Victorian Era, there’s almost an automatic connection with Steampunk.

And I too am very fascinated with Steampunk. In fact, I’ve been making some fly-bye’s over at Caledon lately.

I’m not sure if I have the drive to hurl myself into the whole Steampunk roleplay scene, but it seems like something that would fit into my second life.

I learned a lot about role play during the writing of my story about samurai and geisha. Some of the lessons were very painful and for this reason I’m not sure how far I can go. As Leanna would say though, time will tell.

Yeah, I love steampunk too. It conjurs up all kinds of mysteries and adventure. I'm thinking about heading down that path in SL. There are some giant steampunk communities inworld at Caledon and elsewhere.I'm working on my history atm. I mean, it's rp and maybe I can blend some of my novel elements in with this. could be an interesting way to develop tht novel.

I love Steampunk. It's so Jules Vern to me when I see some good examples of home accessories.
