YAY! Linden Lab Stop At Once

I had the time of my life /
and I owe it all to you….

Linden Lab and Phoenix 1.6.1 team, you nailed it!

Here’s what I mean. Tonight I took The Sea Girl out for a cruise. At first, I took the sim crossings slow coming out of SL New England but I noticed they were almost seamless. So when I got out on the Blake Sea I gave The Girl her head and we zoomed across a couple sims at high speed. I didn’t want to press my luck though so I backed off and took most of the crossings at slow speed.

That’s my warming up The Sea Girl
for our epic journey on the seas.

I made it all the way to The Harbor @ Yamm on Nautilus, at least 20 30 sim crossings since I started. And I thought, heck, let me see what this little boat will do. So on my way back home along the Bingo Straight I pushed the throttle down and this boat took off and we zoomed past sims crossings like they were speed bumps. I was amazed but again I slowed down, I was going for a record of successful sim crossings while taking the boat home the last few sims — over 40 60 crossings at that point.

Here I am at The Harbor on Nautilus.
The 20 30 or so sims we crossed getting here
were causing me to think,
Is this really happening?
Did what just happened really happen?
That’s me and The Girl zooming over sim crossings
like they were nothin but speed bumps!

When I got home I gave LeLe a call and asked if she’d like to try these seas out tonight (she’s running an older version of Phoenix 1.5) and we did a little speeding around and no problem for me or her. Then I gave Marley a call and she joined us and again no problem but I only did a couple crossings. Then I said, let’s see what this thing will do with three girls!

That’s Marley in yellow, LeLe stretched out
and me in the cockpit of The Girl.
I didn’t have enough presence of mind
to ask anyone to shoot pics.

So, we took that little boat out and burned up a full tank of gas making high speed crossings of at least another dozen sim. We didn’t crash once, none of us. We did have a couple of gnarly crossings but out there on the open sea we just zoomed through them. It was a mind blowing experience! I don’t remember anything comparable my entire time in SL. And I think we could have easily carried one or two more peeps aboard, although the boat’s a little harder to handle with more peeps. Btw, all of us had Draw Distance at 512. In all last night I made over 50 80 sim crossings, at least 15 30 at max speed. And no crashes or flying or sinking or getting tossed out of the boat — that’s a whoa!

WELL DONE to all the developer dudes at the Lab and Phoenix. So, stop whatever you’re doing, you fixed it!

I know Marley! Wasn't that amazing, but I went out again this morning and raced across every sim till they closed for maintenance. The sim crossings on the sea are working. I wonder if they've fixed them on the land. This was a big wow!
