I’m still struggling with the new look and feel of this blog. Right now the theme is Summer and there’s a sandy color to things. heh. That’s not what I want to say though.
Awhile back, I chatted with Headborro Antfarm (it’s ok to call him HB) about WordPress vs Blogger. He told me that it’s a lot more blogger friendly here. I didn’t quite know what he meant at the time but when I setup this blog about six months ago, it became apparent. I think communications with readers and other bloggers is so much easier here.
So, thank you to the peeps who appear mysteriously at this blog with friendly greetings!! It is appreciated.
A shame you moved to hosted WordPress. Well, that’s only my own perspective. WordPress is an excellent CMS, but when they stopped being an excellent blog platform while trying to be a full CMS (Content Management System) is when they lost me.
I find the Blogger offers a lot more flexibility and features at no cost (Hosted WP charges for them – such as customized themes and plug-ins). Now, to be clear: unheated WordPress (hosted on your own host) is clearly the leader in flexibility and features. It’s the hosted version I find too limiting.
I’ve had my blog at hosted WordPress and Blogger, then found Posterous a good substitute but finally settled on Tumblr.com as the final resting place for Socially Mundane.
Now, If I could just bring myself to actually post stuff, I could call myself a “blogger” again. 🙂
Congratulations on the move and may your blog prosper in its new home.

Hi Ari…
Thank you for your kind wishes.
You may be interested to know that in December, Google implemented software that bascially destoryed my blogs’ functionality across a broad front. I assume it’s because I was using Internet Explorer and wasn’t using G+ at the time. The problems were so acute I announce I would be closing the blog. Since that time, I worked for weeks trying to resolve the issues. Some issues have been resolved, thanks to NightCruzr (this guy is outstanding). However, every day I faced far too many unresolved defects. The Backup feature doesn’t even work for me. These weren’t the only reasons I’ve moved, but played a role.
Btw, I use Tumblr too, for my Empire Avenue blog. It is nice, but doesn’t have the features of Blogger or WordPress. I may use it for other special interest blogs in the future.
Kind regards, Yordie

No Torley, but it amazes me how people on WordPress seem to just drop in for a chat. I never got that on Blogger. I can’t explain why other than this right here, the communicaitons features. It’s very user friendly i think.

Did you see the new WordPress Follow & Like widgets? If you scroll all the way down on iRez now, “into the black” you can, for example, see the posts that cool peeps like, you know, Yordie or Berry like! 🙂
