Phil Kearny’s BAD Nightclub

Phil Kearny was a General in the days when U.S. cavalry “tamed” the west, there’s even a Fort Phil Kearny not too far from the Little Big Horn.

In Second Life, Phil Kearny is the genius behind Ambrosia, the hottest nightclub on the grid. Phil also is the creator of Rez nightclub and the more formal Grind nightclub. Checkout the Ambrosia site.

Last night I was trying to get my groove back. The effects of two weeks down time had taken a toll on me. The only other club I’d been to since landing at my new home was Junkyard Blues, but last night I wanted some rock. I headed off to Ambrosia nightclub where I found DJ Blackbeard Sabertooth spinning. I hadn’t seen Blackie in a while so it felt good to be hanging with the crowd there.

Ambrosia is always packed with all kinds of peeps.
Btw, one thing I noticed last night was, the vast majority of women
were wearing Mesh hair and that surprised me a lot.

Ambrosia is the place to see couples trying out hot looks.
Here’s Spence & Sisely looking good in the crowd.
That’s me upper right in the red skirt (not so hip but hey…).

I was having a good time, chillin’ on the tunes and checking the crazy chat, when I was curious about how many peeps there were in the club. So I pulled up the map and there it was, yet another Phil Kearny nightclub on a new sim. Holly Molly, I thought! So, I decided to head on over for a peek at the BAD nightclub on the Florida sim.

It was right in the heart of South Beach on Miami Beach!

Even though the club was very new, there were lots of peeps and
the scene inside the club was, well… “Totally Bad”!!

I used to ride through South Beach when I was a kid growing up in Miami, so this club and this sim really had a great feel to it. Today’s South Beach isn’t the South Beach I grew up with and it’s a vast improvement of olden times.

OK, OK, OK! Here’s the thing. I chatted with Phil for a couple minutes last night and he said there’s still a lot to do to finishing the club. In fact, I checked the Ambrosia blog this morning and didn’t see any announcements that it was even open. Nonetheless, there are several big name stores already setup near the club and on the back street I expect there’ll be many more.

Who knows, maybe I just happened in last night. Nonetheless, it looks like this will be another great club once the sim is finished and formally announced. Till then… well, it’s already a hot club.

  2. There was no time Period like that of the 80’s and 90’s. BAD rejuvenates the era like no other Club on the Grid, as far as I am concerned.

I know what you mean, Kayrn. And the Art Deco design of those old nightclubs on the beach is just amazing. I think this is going to be one of Phil’s biggest hits as a night club.
