Sneak Preview of One Billion Rising in Second Life

Tonight I thought I’d missed One Billion Rising in Second Life, but Honour McMillan was kind enough to give me a staff pass to come and visit with the organizing team. In the process of dancing and carrying on, I realized that this was just the dress rehearsal, so to speak. The real event begins tomorrow!

Here’s a link to everyone who is interested and I ask all my friends to take a little time to Walk, Strike, Dance and Rise, and come be part of this global event. Checkout the Event Schedule because I’m certain you’ll find some of your favorite performers on the day long happening. Here’s a preview photo of the four (count’em 4 ) sim region reserved for OBR in SL. Saffia Wildershins says the four sims together can accommodate 200 people!

It was sunset and the creators of this event,
One Billion Rising in Second Life,
were sharing some music and dance.

Here is what OBR is About: “ONE BILLION RISING began as a call to action based on the staggering statistic that 1 in 3 women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime. With the world population at 7 billion, this adds up to more than ONE BILLION WOMEN AND GIRLS. On February 14, 2013, men and women in Second Life will join activists, writers, thinkers, celebrities, and people across the world to Walk, Dance, and Rise as a show of unity, individual strength, and the need for change.” Read more in “About OBR” on the OBR in Second Life website.

I’ll be there throughout the day tomorrow. You might find me on the “Dance” sim more likely than not. I hope to see girlfriends and guy friends. Come share the energy and commitment.
