A number of friends and acquaintances have counseled me in various ways since my decision to say goodbye on Saturday. They’ve made me aware that Yordie Sands of Second Life may be one thing, but Yordie Sands the blogger & writer can be thought of separately. While Yordie Sands has left Second Life, Yordie Sands the writer can still exists.
It has been difficult to walk away from Second Life. I’m very saddened and I will need a lot of time to sort out my priorities. I don’t know if I’ll ever return to SL. And even if I were to return, it is not likely that I’d return as Yordie Sands.
But friends have nudged me into realizing that I shouldn’t just throw away the Yordie Sands that writes. I’m a Gemini (Angelina Jolie, Marilyn Monroe, Sandra Bernhard and me and all) but you suspected, didn’t you? I’m mutable as air and I’m sorry to be so fickle, but I believe friends are right.
I want to preserve Yordie Sands, the author.
I don’t know what I’ll do yet or write yet, although I have a stack of writing projects. I don’t know what I’ll do with this blog or anything else, but Vaneeesa Blaylock has helped me to understand that I can still write for iRez salon.
