Some Favorite Pics from SL10B

I spent a lot of time at SL10B today. I wandered far and wide, and hither and yon too.

My Personal Favorites… today

There are so many wonderful exhibits that I hate to pick favorites, but on this day I enjoyed snapping these photos. Oh, oh, oh! Before I go on, I want to give a shout out to Narcon for some of my favorite Windlight settings.

What could be more beautiful than a classic three mast schooner!
It must be that sea girl in me being stirred up again.

I’ve only had one real train ride in my life,
about 500 miles and through the night.
But I find trains enchanting and romantic!

Then I saw this amazing little island in the mist out on Stunning sim.

Expressing Ourselves, Creating

As I’ve roamed the many exhibits at Second Life’s celebration of ten years of development, I came to rediscover a theme that has struck me in the past. The theme is one of change. Second Life is constantly changing and many places and groups seem to come and go.

Many of us struggle against this seemingly endless change. None of us are happy when a region we’ve loved has fallen away, but this happens often. It’s one of the points Rodvik Linden made in the recent video. Everyone in Second Life knows how fast life moves in our virtual world and yet we still struggle to maintain some form of stability.

I believe the most amazing thing about Second Life is that so many people express themselves through their building and “imagineering.” Again and again today, I stopped to reflect on the extraordinary work that people put into the exhibits and how those exhibits reflect such a vast array of interests. Anyway, this has been on my mind a lot today.

That’s me just gazing out at the seascape on Incredible sim.
I used the region default Windlight settings.

Despite my joy and enthusiasm for this amazing celebration, I am certain that I’ll never be able to live the second life I’ve known in the past. This is not a bad thing. I’m seeing new things to do, new ways to be part of Second Life.

I love the bottom one, Yordie. And I must admit that I have a curiosity about the extent of involvement one feels with Second Life! 🙂

Thanks Penny… yes, it is surprising how Second Life can engage some people. for me it remains a playground for my imagination.
