I’m Building an Airplane

I’m building an air-crate, I mean an airplane, but so far it looks more like a crate. I got some wings and a tail fin. The wings have a couple of barrels that are being used as engines and some props I made by twisting some prims. That’s about it so far. I still have three weeks to get this figured out — Second Life’s “Burning Man” opens October 20th.

And that’s me sitting by the fire thinking about how to build it.

Hi Yordie If you put a lil time and creativity into your build it will become something you will be happy with. I remember visiting SL Burn last year and just like the RL Burning man it is not a place for slick or polished things. Once you decide what you want your build to be the choice of textures will make it special. Building is art and there is no need to be afraid of art. Trying to manage your time to get it all done before the show will be the hard part.

Hi Yordie my first goal when I joined SL was to build my own airplane. Back then I didn’t even know how to rezz prims and link them but over time I did learn and built my plane. I still enjoy flying my own plane more than others I have bought just because it was my own creation and brings a personal touch to SL. I feel the same about houses and boats and anything built by myself or friends. I would be happy to help out with tips or simple encouragement to help you keep making progress. Let me know if I can be helpful.
