Sunday Night at the Junkyard Blues

I’ve been wandering around SL a bit lately. I’ve spent time on several mainland continents and have noticed that so much of the land must have been abandoned, and now owned by Linden’s public works department. But I didn’t find any of it up for auction. I understand what’s going on, what with Sansar on the horizon, but it’s a bit sad for me.

Even some great clubs are gone. Last Sunday I learned the blues club Crossroads was closed down (UPDATE: apparently I was wrong about this). I wasn’t there that much but I always liked the people and the ambiance. And some clubs are impossible to keep from crashing on. In some ways, not much has changed in SL since I left. Anyway, I’m glad that Junkyard Blues is doing relatively well. I went there Sunday night and caught DJ Fiery Otaared’s show. She remembers me and we talked about this and that. To me, Fiery is the best blues DJ on the grid. Hugs girlfriend.

That’s me tending bar while Fiery spins tunes. Yeah, I’m still wearing the same outfit.

  1. Hello Yordie! An update to my earlier comment. Crossroads is still in business! (June 2017) It exists at Crossroads (90, 172, 24).

  2. Hello Yordie! How good to see you dip your toe back into SL once in a while to see what’s new. I’ve been over to Junkyard Blues a couple of times in the past couple of months myself. The music and DJs are still very good. I didn’t know Crossroads had shut down. It had a very good, long run. I thank its owners the best of luck…and perhaps a good rest too!

  3. Hey Yordie!! Hope you are well!! I’ve still got a toe in!! How is your book doing! If you are in again in the next while do visit Ceakay Ballyhoo’s sim on which she collaborated with me, using one of my Tales of the Tuatha stories as the theme!
