I made a lot of progress in NG3, learning about Outpost Building. I got very frustrated because I couldn’t get all the outposts functioning together. So I’m starting out with fresh ideas this time. In the past I began by building a centralized main outpost first. The idea was to have a place to begin linking to. My guess is that is not what the game wants me to do, so this time I’ll be starting with a outpost on a planet with lost of resources. And last night I made a lot of progress finding a good spot and getting a started. Below are some photos of my work, starting with landing on Bessel III-b again.
I did extensive preparations and made extensive navigational calculations to identify the perfect location, on the seam of three ecosystems. Then I made my first landing. As you can see, it was daylight and that created it’s own problems (refer to video link below).
I worked into the wee hours of night, getting the foundational elements of my outpost laid out and functioning.
When the sun finally came up in the morning, I had all the components of the outpost functioning. The outpost is now producing large amounts of Aluminum, Iron, Nickle, and Cobalt. It is also manufacturing component items used for building and for selling.
In previous posts I’ve discussed the problems I experienced with outpost building. During my time in NG3, after countless hours I literally declared “NO JOY”. And I haven’t completed the Shipping Magnate quest. NTL, building settlements and outpost is one of the gaming activities I like best, so I’m determined to get that final achievement.
The moon on Bessel III-b is a very special place to begin building your outposts. It is fully explained in a video by Vash Cowaii. This is literally where every player should begin their first outpost. However, it is a very hard spot to find.
SPOILER ALERT: When you arrive at the planet, do a Save because the odds are you won’t find the location on your first landing.
